This notice describes the features currently used on Bones & Coins Field Guide.

Reading and filtering guides

You do not need an account to read the guides. The website has no registration, checkout, or comments system. Guide filtering runs in your browser; our filtering code does not send your search terms to a server or store your search history.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use these guides. We have not added advertising tags to these pages. The YouTube player is a separate third-party service, described below.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 helps us understand which pages visitors read, how they arrive, and how they interact with the site. It can collect information such as page URLs, referring websites, browser and device details, and interaction events. Analytics cookies can distinguish browsers and sessions.

Google processes this information to provide analytics reports. See Google’s Privacy Policy. You can manage cookies in your browser or use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.

Your starter checklist

The homepage saves the boxes you tick in your browser’s local storage under bc-checklist-v1. This lets the checklist remember your choices when you return using the same browser and site address. Our code does not send those choices to us.

You can remove the saved checklist by clearing this website’s site data in your browser settings. If browser storage is blocked, the checklist still works during your current visit.

YouTube video

The homepage includes a YouTube video using the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com player. Your browser can contact YouTube when the player loads, before you press play. The player is not automatically started by this website.

Privacy-enhanced mode does not mean that no information is processed. YouTube can receive connection and device information, and its player may use browser storage. See YouTube’s embedding explanation and Google’s Privacy Policy.

Images, fonts, and hosting

The site serves its images and fonts from its own origin. As with any website, requests to deliver pages and files include connection information such as an IP address and requested URL. Hosting and network services may keep operational or security logs. This site does not promise a specific log retention period that has not been established with its hosting provider.
